Bhopal: After the ambitious Indore-Nagpur Expressway project (part of the larger Indore-Betul-Khandwa-Vadodara economic corridor) has officially received green-light approval for various sections, a major connectivity shift is set to take place between Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The 4-lane expressway will cut travel time on the Indore-Nagpur corridor from a tedious 13-14 hours to about 6 hours.

NHAI sanctioned the Betul-Khandwa-Vadodara stretch of 233-km is sanctioned for a total project investment of ₹4,415.60 Crore.
Reduced travel time from 14 hours to 6 hours.
States Connected: Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Execution Mode: Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) with future expansion plans to 6 lanes.
WHY THIS PROJECT IS A GAME-CHANGER

- Religious Tourism: Connects millions of religious tourists, including pilgrims heading to Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga to Ujjain for Simhastha Kumbh 2028.
Real Estate Surge: Commercial & Residential property values in and around Khandwa Road and NH-47 are expected to rise by 30-40%.
This corridor will become the economic backbone of the central region of India after completion, facilitating ease of freight transportation and regional movement.

Start to End: Commences from Haiwarkhedi in Betul district, then passes through Ashapur, Khandwa and Deshgaon till Julwania in Barwani district, continuing further to Nagpur through NH-47.

Key Interconnections: Direct connectivity to key highways such as NH-47, NH-753, NH-347BG, NH-52 and State Highway 15.
The districts included in the District Reach are Indore, Betul, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Barwani (Madhya Pradesh).
